Reverse Engineering W1 - 9/30/16

Weekly Blog 4: Victor Nguyen 7A Design Process I have just finished the 'Brainstorm' in the Generating Possible Solutions. Now, we are 'Thumbnail Sketching' step.  Summary This week, we have done some things, probably the same as last week. Well on Monday, we had got started on our new project, Reverse Engineering. We chose our groups, its Abram, Frank, Pierson, and I. Then, we need to choose our item. We didn't really take long, so we simply decided, the Flashlight. The first step of the Reverse Engineering is our proposal, so started to write it. The proposal is down below. On Thursday, Mrs. Garcia wasn't here, so we had to watch a video and answer some questions. And now, it's Friday and it's Blog Day!!! Image Reverse Engineering Proposal

EDL Arrangement Project Blog - 9/23/16

Engineering Design Loop Arrangement Project Blog Image Summary This week, I learned plenty of things. For example, I learned that there are 8 steps in the EDL and in the S&EP. The 8 different steps are Define the Problem, Research Problem, Develop Solutions, Best Solutions, Test Prototype, Redesign, and Communicate Results. Since Mrs. Garcia was out for a day, we didn't have any tech, so we watched a video and  learned  many things. For instance, I learned that there are some things/advances out there that are impossible but you can turn them possible. As you can see, this week, I  learned  plenty of things. Backward Looking I probably knew some things before this project. I knew some of the steps in the Science & Engineering Practice. So I knew some of this steps in this. Besides that, I didn't know much about this Engineering Design Loop. I found about these steps, because I used the website that Mrs. Garcia gave us. That website helped me under

Engineering Design Loop - 9/16/16

Weekly Blog : Victor Nguyen 7A Design Process I have just finish, 'background research' in the Define the Problem step. Now I am starting to go 'brainstorming' in the Generate Possible Solutions step. Summary This week, I have done a few things. For the first two class period this week, I started working on the, 'Design the Loop - video reference page.' I have learned about the design process. There are many steps that you have to go through in designing your project. Then, for the next two class periods, we started to work on the 'Practices and Design the Loop Arrangement.' I learned and identified different variety of steps in the EDL. There are 8 different steps: Asking Questions and Defining Problems Using Models Conducting Investigations Analyzing Data Using Mathematics Conducting Explanations and Designing Solutions Arguing from Evidence Obtaining, evaluating, and communicating informations. Electromechanical Systems Project Blog - 9/9/16

Image
Project Blog : Victor Nguyen 7A Image Summary For this hat project, I have learned many things. For instance, I have learned the main thing about electromechanical engineer. That main thing, is that they design and build electronic circuits, for video games, amusement parks, airplane circuits, etc. To become that engineer, you can study at mainly any university, but you need at least a Bachelor's degree, with 4 years or more in college. Electromechanical engineers have to work up to 40 hours a week and they get paid up to $120,000. Some companies have electromechanical engineers, like Texas Instruments, Intel, etc. Backward - looking Before I got assigned this subject, I didn't know much about this topic. I probably knew what an engineer is, but not an electromechanical engineer. For example, I knew engineers design and build different things. In the name, 'Electromechanical Engineer' is electro, so I thought this engineer design and build things that have to
